Utilizing innovative and progressive finish technology, San Diego Cabinet's multi-step finish application produces a strong, long lasting product.
Step 1:
All parts are machine finish sanded to 180 grit on a wide belt sander.
Step 2:
All parts are then finish sanded by hand to 220 grit.
Step 3:
Stain in the appropriate shade is applied and hand rubbed on to insure that the stain penetrates the wood.
Step 4:
A Light Sealer Coat is applied to seal in the stain color.
Step 5:
All parts are then fine sanded to a 320 grit finish
Step 6:
A second stain coat is hand applied to bring out the color of the stain and to intensify the finish.
Step 7:
A mist coat of Sealer is then applied to create a tacky surface.
Step 8:
Once the mist coat has created a tacky surface a heavy sealer coat is then applied to seal the wood.
Step 9:
All parts are then fine sanded by hand to 220 grit.
Step 10:
A topcoat of SUPERLAC in the appropriate sheen is then applied and heat dried to bake in the finish.
Step 11:
All wood surfaces are visually inspected for any imperfections and additional hand sanding is then done to 320 grit as needed.
Step 12:
A second topcoat of SUPERLAC in the appropriate sheen is then applied and heat dried under infrared lamps to completely bake the finish for permanence.
Step 13:
Once the finish has dried and cured, all parts are hand buffed and polished with furniture wax to bring out the luster of the wood.
